Lively Oaks functions as an incubator for a number of educational, food, and artistic projects. The location, at the edge of the Village of Trumansburg, consists of two different contexts: the suburban landscape and an early succession woodland.
Here we are raising chickens and sheep, restoring a 5-acre abandoned hayfield into a silvopasture system, nurturing a small market garden, establishing a mushroom yard, and planting a tree nursery. We have hosted a number of workshops, and we aspire to continue to form an educational space that can enrich our community's understanding of regenerative living and eating, and to encourage others to integrate what they've learned into their everyday lives.
Of The Forest Farm was the first project to take form at Lively Oaks, we are grateful for the encouragement and the collaboration that has continued to inspire us and aid us in the growth of our vision.
